The Anderson-St. James’s

When Jesse and Blaine met at nationals in Chicago through their mutual friend, Rachel Berry, they never imagined that they would ever even be friends. It had just been a casual, friendly hello before Blaine was rushed backstage to perform with New Directions. However, after their first meeting, Blaine received a phone call from Mr. St. James asking him for a quick coffee date after the Nationals festivities were over. And it was that night that they had their first date at a downtown Chicago coffee shop and where the two found themselves slowly beginning to fall for each other over sips of caramel lattes. One date turned into two and two dates turned into three and before they knew it, the couple was going strong and steady. Blaine found himself attending UCLA for their music program and Jesse decided to follow, once again working his way into the very same program that had dropped him just a few years before. With Blaine’s encouragement and study tips, the pair graduated with honors and soon enough, Jesse found a job as a theater director at a local venue, while Blaine tested the waters as a musician. They were soon married and just a few months later, their first child, Katherine, was born via surrogate. Two years later, their second daughter, Dakota, came into the world. They couldn’t have been happier. Things were rough for a few years and it was hard for Blaine to find much steady work. Coming up in the music industry in Los Angeles wasn’t nearly as easy as the movies made it look. He played in bars, coffee shops, street fairs, and nearly anywhere that would let him strum his guitar, living off the tips he collected in his guitar case until the day he was finally discovered by a music label and signed on the dotted line for his first album. It was a major success, and soon enough he was signed for four more , as well as an nationwide tour, leaving Jesse to manage their two teens alone as somewhat of a single father. The stress of Blaine being gone so often eventually took it’s toll on Jesse and when he ran into their old friend, Sebastian Smythe, shopping in town, they immediately hit it off. After learning that Sebastian and his husband, Kurt, were currently seperated, the two began sleeping together. Though Jesse felt horribly in the beginning about being unfaithful to Blaine, he felt as if his own needs weren’t being met by his absent husband and continued the affair. But all things must come to an end, this affair and , unfortunately, The Anderson-St. James’ marriage, included. Needless to say, Blaine, while planning to surprise his family with his early return, walked in to find Jesse in bed with Sebastian and while they tried to work things out in the months following this discovery, nothing seemed to work. The two filed for divorce a month ago, but haven’t been able to bring themselves to let the children or their friends know. They can’t decide whether this is to protect their children in the long run or because when it comes down to it, this divorce isn’t something that either of them really want.
